  • Galaxy evolution with J-PAS
The Javalambre Physics of the Accelerating Universe Survey (J-PAS) has started observing wide areas of the northern sky with its unique set of 56 filters: 54 narrow band and 2 broader filters that cover the full optical range and effectively deliver a low-resolution spectrum for every object detected. Observations are carried out from the dedicated

  • Fine-scale opposite-polarity magnetic fields in a solar plage revealed by integral field spectropolarimetry
Context. Plages are small concentrations of strong, nearly vertical magnetic fields in the solar photosphere that expand with height. A high spatial and spectral resolution that can resolve their fine structure is required to characterize them, and spectropolarimetric capabilities are needed to infer their magnetic fields. Aims. We constrain the 3D

  • Fan region as seen by QUIJOTE MFI experiment
Microwave and radio observations exhibit some interesting features in the Galactic plane. One of those is the Fan region which is an extended region located in the Perseus arm at a distance of 500 pc. Fan region has highly polarized emission from several MHz up to 353 GHz, which is ascribed to synchrotron but nowadays is largely unexplained. Here

  • Exploring the atmosphere of GJ 1132 b with CRIRES+
With a mass, radius, and mean density similar to Earth's, the rocky planet GJ 1132 b is the first truly small planet for which an atmosphere detection was proposed. If confirmed, ultra-reduced magma outgassing is the only mechanism capable of producing HCN and H 2O in large enough quantities to match the Hubble Space Telescope observations. The

  • EXOPLANETS IN YOUNG CLUSTERS AND MOVING GROUPS
The thesis explores the detection and characterisation of exoplanets orbiting young stars (<=1 Gyr), offering key insights into the early stages of planet formation and atmospheric evolution. By combining transit photometry and radial velocity data from both space- and ground-based observatories, we investigate how features like the radius valley

  • Evaluating quenching in cosmological simulations of galaxy formation with spectral covariance in the optical window
Cosmological hydrodynamical simulations provide valuable insights on galaxy evolution when coupled with observational data. Comparisons with real galaxies are typically performed via scaling relations of the observables. Here, we follow an alternative approach based on the spectral covariance in a model-independent way. We build upon previous work
