  • Solar Modulation of Cosmic Nuclei over a Solar Cycle: Results from the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer
We report the properties of precision time structures of cosmic nuclei He, Li, Be, B, C, N, and O fluxes over an 11-year solar cycle from May 2011 to November 2022 in the rigidity range from 1.92 to 60.3 GV. The nuclei fluxes show similar but not identical time variations with amplitudes decreasing with increasing rigidity. In particular, below 3

  • SN 2023tsz: a helium-interaction-driven supernova in a very low-mass galaxy
SN 2023tsz is a Type Ibn supernova (SN Ibn), an uncommon subtype of stripped-envelope core-collapse supernovae (SNe), discovered in an extremely low-mass host. SNe Ibn are characterized by narrow helium emission lines in their spectra and are believed to originate from the collapse of massive Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars, though their progenitor systems

  • Signs of 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' formation in low-surface-brightness globular-cluster-rich dwarf galaxies
Context. Only two ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs) have spatially resolved stellar population properties, showing flat to rising metallicity profiles, indicative of a different formation pathway than most dwarf galaxies. The scarcity of other low-surface-brightness (LSB) dwarfs with a similar analysis prevents a deeper understanding of this behaviour

  • Segue 2 Recently Collided with the Cetus-Palca Stream: New Opportunities to Constrain Dark Matter in an Ultra-faint Dwarf
Stellar streams in the Milky Way are promising detectors of low-mass dark matter (DM) subhalos predicted by ΛCDM. Passing subhalos induce perturbations in streams that indicate the presence of the subhalos. Understanding how known DM-dominated satellites impact streams is a crucial step toward using stream perturbations to constrain the properties

  • Revisiting the fundamental parameters for the black hole X-ray transient Swift J1753.5–0127
We present time-resolved Gran Telescopio Canarias optical spectroscopy and William Herschel Telescope i-band photometry of the X-ray transient SWIFT J1753.5–0127 in quiescence. The i-band light curve is dominated by flickering with an amplitude of ∼0.5 mag and shows no evidence of the ellipsoidal modulation of the companion star. The telluric

  • Rapid mid-infrared spectral timing with JWST: GRS 1915+105 during an MIR-bright and X-ray-obscured state
We present mid-infrared (MIR) spectral-timing measurements of the prototypical Galactic microquasar GRS 1915+105. The source was observed with the Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) onboard JWST in June 2023 at an MIR luminosity $L_{\rm MIR}$ $\approx$ 10 $^{36}$ erg s $^{-1}$ exceeding past infrared levels by about a factor of 10. In contrast, the X
