  • Clumpiness of galaxies revealed in the near-infrared with COSMOS-Web: Substructures at 1 < z < 4 and their link to stellar mass and star formation
Context. Clumps in the rest-frame UV emission of galaxies at z ≲ 3 have been observed for decades. Since the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), a large population is detected in the rest-frame near-infrared (NIR), raising questions about their formation mechanism. Aims. We investigate the presence and properties of NIR overdensities

  • Cloudy Extrasolar Skies in the JWST Era and their Dependence on Atmospheric Properties
Dust clouds in extrasolar atmospheres shape the emergent spectra of gas giant planets and brown dwarfs. Therefore, our understanding of these objects depends on our knowledge of silicate clouds, which have their main spectral signature in the mid-infrared. Literature studies have revealed that silicate clouds in warm brown dwarfs are near

  • Chemical study of two starless cores in the B213/L1495 filament
Context. The chemical evolution of pre-stellar cores during their transition to a protostellar stage is not yet fully understood. Detailed chemical characterizations of these sources are needed to better define their chemistry during star formation. Aims. Our goal is to characterize the chemistry of the starless cores C2 and C16 in the B213/L1495

  • Bulgeless Evolution And the Rise of Discs (BEARD): II. The role of mergers in shaping the Milky Way analogues in TNG50
We study the formation and evolution of bulgeless galaxies within the Milky Way-Andromeda analogue sample of the TNG50 simulation. Through kinematic decomposition with MORDOR, we identified bulgeless galaxies with a bulge-to-disc mass ratio of B/D ≤ 0.08, in line with the Bulgeless Evolution And the Rise of Discs (BEARD) survey and Milky Way

  • Bulgeless Evolution And the Rise of Discs (BEARD): I. Physical drivers of the mass─size relation for Milky Way-like galaxies
In the standard Λ cold dark matter (ΛCDM) cosmology, galaxies grow through smooth accretion and hierarchical mergers. While this framework explains many large-scale structures, the existence of massive disc galaxies without prominent bulges-pure discs-remains a challenge. In this work, we investigate the physical origin of the scatter in the

  • Biasing from galaxy trough and peak profiles with the DES Y3 redMaGiC galaxies and the weak lensing mass map
We measure the correspondence between the distribution of galaxies and matter around troughs and peaks in the projected galaxy density, by comparing redMaGiC galaxies ( $0.15< z<0.65$) to weak lensing mass maps from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) Y3 data release. We obtain stacked profiles, as a function of angle $\theta$, of the galaxy density
