  • Observations of Comet P/2019 LD2 (ATLAS) with the 10-m Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC)
In this work we present the analysis of the observations of Comet P/2019 LD2 (ATLAS) with the 10-m Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC), La Palma, Spain. P/2019 LD2 (ATLAS, hereafter LD2), was discovered early June 2019 as a faint asteroidal object and later reported as the first known Jupiter trojan asteroid to display cometary activity. A closer

  • Physical characterization of hyperbolic comet C/2017 U7
We present here observations of the comet C/2017 U7 obtained in 2018 and 2019 using the red camera of Goodman High Throughput Spectrograph (GHTS) at SOAR telescope. This comet was discovered in 2017 and found to have an hyperbolic orbit. We obtained visible spectra covering the wavelength range of 0.5─0.9 µm and also images in the SDSS filter

  • Preliminary Target Selection for the DESI Milky Way Survey (MWS)
The DESI Milky Way Survey (MWS) will observe ≥8 million stars between 16 < r < 19 mag, supplemented by observations of brighter targets under poor observing conditions. The survey will permit an accurate determination of stellar kinematics and population gradients, characterize diffuse substructure in the thick disk and stellar halo, enable the

  • Robust asteroseismic properties of the bright planet host HD 38529
The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) is recording short-cadence, high duty-cycle timeseries across most of the sky, which presents the opportunity to detect and study oscillations in interesting stars, in particular planet hosts. We have detected and analysed solar-like oscillations in the bright G4 subgiant HD 38529, which hosts an
