  • The size function of massive satellites from the Re-Rh and Mstar-Mh relations: constraining the role of environment
In previous work, we showed that a semi-empirical model in which galaxies in host dark matter haloes are assigned stellar masses via a stellar mass-halo mass (SMHM) relation and sizes (R e) via a linear and tight R e-R h relation can faithfully reproduce the size function of local Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) central galaxies and the strong size

  • The SAMI Galaxy Survey: the third and final data release
We have entered a new era where integral-field spectroscopic surveys of galaxies are sufficiently large to adequately sample large-scale structure over a cosmologically significant volume. This was the primary design goal of the SAMI Galaxy Survey. Here, in Data Release 3, we release data for the full sample of 3068 unique galaxies observed. This

  • The Pristine Inner Galaxy Survey (PIGS) III: carbon-enhanced metal-poor stars in the bulge
The most metal-deficient stars hold important clues about the early buildup and chemical evolution of the Milky Way, and carbon-enhanced metal-poor (CEMP) stars are of special interest. However, little is known about CEMP stars in the Galactic bulge. In this paper, we use the large spectroscopic sample of metal-poor stars from the Pristine Inner

  • The OTELO Survey: The Star Formation Rate Evolution of Low-mass Galaxies
We present the analysis of a sample of Hα, Hβ, and [O II] emission line galaxies from the OTELO survey, with masses typically below $\mathrm{log}({M}_{* }/{M}_{\odot })\sim 9.4$ and redshifts between z ~ 0.4 and 1.43. We study the star formation rate, star formation rate density, and their number density and evolution with redshift. We obtain a

  • The evolution of the UV luminosity and stellar mass functions of Lyman-α emitters from z 2 to z 6
We measure the evolution of the rest-frame UV luminosity function (LF) and the stellar mass function (SMF) of Lyman-α (Ly α) emitters (LAEs) from z ~ 2 to z ~ 6 by exploring ~4000 LAEs from the SC4K sample. We find a correlation between Ly α luminosity (L Ly α) and rest-frame UV (M UV), with best fit M$_{\rm UV}=-1.6_{-0.3}^{+0.2}\log _{10} (\rm L_

  • The dust-gas AGN torus as constrained from X-ray and mid-infrared observations
Context. In recent decades, several multiwavelength studies have been dedicated to exploring the properties of the obscuring material in active galactic nuclei (AGN). Various models have been developed to describe the structure and distribution of this material and constrain its physical and geometrical parameters through spectral fitting
