  • The life of stars and their planets
We lack a reliable scenario for the formation and evolution of stars and their planetary systems, involving key factors such as magnetic fields and turbulence. We present the case for a mission concept that will clarify these problems and give us a global view of the evolution of combined star and planetary systems. This will be achieved by

  • The IAC online catalog for M-, L- and T-type dwarfs
We present an online catalog for dwarfs with spectral types M, L and T. The catalog currently contains 893 objects listed in order of right ascension. For most of them the spectra can be downloaded from the catalog in ASCII or FITS formats. The web address is http://www.iac.es/galeria/ege/catalogo_spectral/.

  • The First Extrasolar Planet Discovered with A New Generation High Throughput Doppler Instrument
We report the first extrasolar planet, ET1, detected with a new generation Doppler instrument, called Exoplanet Tracker. This planet has a minimum mass of 0.41 Jupiter masses and orbits a V = 8.1 K0V star with a 4.8 day period. The planet was identified using the KPNO Coude Feed 0.9 meter telescope in spring 2005. This is the first time an

  • The EROs at z < 1.5 in the Groth-Westphal field of the GOYA survey
The study of the Extremly Red Objects (EROs), is the importance for setting constraints on the first epoch of massive galaxy formation, for exploring the population of dust reddened starburst and for testing models of galaxy formation in general. They are defined as objects with I-K>4(Vega). The traditional picture identifies the EROs either with
