  • Millimeter Observation of the SZ Effect in the Corona Borealis Supercluster
We have observed the Corona Borealis supercluster with the Millimeter and Infrared Testa Grigia Observatory (MITO), located in the Italian Alps, at 143, 214, 272, and 353 GHz. We present a description of the measurements, data analysis, and results of the observations together with a comparison with observations performed at 33 GHz with the Very

  • Magnetic Fields in M Dwarfs: Rapid Magnetic Field Variability in EV Lacertae
We report here our spectropolarimetric observations obtained using the CFHT Espadons high-resolution spectrograph of two M dwarf stars that standard models suggest are fully convective: EV Lac (M3.5) and HH And (M5.5). The difference in their rotational velocity makes them good targets for studying the dependence of the magnetic field topology in M

  • LP 714-37: A Wide Pair of Ultracool Dwarfs Actually Is a Triple
LP 714-37 was identified by Phan-Bao et al. as one of the very few wide pairs of very low mass (VLM) stars known to date, with a separation of 33 AU. Here we present adaptive optics imaging that resolves the secondary of the wide pair into a tighter binary, with a projected angular separation of 0.36", or 7 AU. The estimated spectral types of LP

  • Lithium niobate Fabry-Perot etalons in double-pass configuration for spectral filtering in the visible imager magnetograph IMaX for the SUNRISE mission
The Imaging MAgnetograph eXperiment, IMaX, is one of the three postfocal instruments of the Sunrise mission. The Sunrise project consists of a stratospheric balloon with a 1 m aperture telescope, which will fly from the Antarctica within the NASA Long Duration Balloon Program. IMaX should work as a diffraction limited imager and it should be

  • IRMOS: The near-infrared multi-object spectrograph for the TMT
We present an overview of the near-InfraRed Multi-Object Spectrograph (IRMOS) for the Thirty Meter Telescope, as developed under a Feasibility Study at the University of Florida and Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics. IRMOS incorporates a multi-object adaptive optics correction capability over a 5-arcminute field of regard on TMT. Up to 20
