  • NStED: Exo-Planet Transit Survey TrES Lyr1
The Trans-atlantic Exoplanet Survey (TrES) attempts to find planetary transits among bright stars. The two telescope used are the 10cm Sleuth Telescope (Palomar Observatory, California) and the 10cm Planet Search Survey Telescope (PSST) at Lowell Observatory, Arizona. The survey area covers 5.7 degrees by 5.7 degrees and is centered on the star 16

  • Modeling the second solar spectrum . An empirical approach
We present an empirical approach to model the wing polarization of strong resonance lines. This procedure based on `last scattering approximation' (LSA) was developed by citet{ste80,ste82}, for coherent scattering in the laboratory frame. We generalize his empirical approach to handle partial frequency redistribution (PRD). We illustrate this

  • MISMA inversion of HINODE SOT/SP data. Preliminary results
We analyze full Stokes observations of a quiet Sun region at disk center taken with the spectropolarimeter of the Solar Optical Telescope aboard the HINODE satellite. We present the preliminary results derived from the MISMA inversion of the observed Stokes I and V profiles. The complete analysis has as a final goal the definition of probability

  • Milli-arcsecond Astrophysics with VSI, the VLTI Spectro-imager in the ELT Era
Nowadays, compact sources relatively warm like surfaces of nearby stars, circumstellar environments of stars from early stages to the most evolved ones and surroundings of active galactic nuclei can be investigated at milli-arcsecond scales only with the VLT in its interferometric mode. We propose a spectro-imager, named VSI (VLTI spectro-imager)
