  • Secular Evolution and a Non-evolving Black-hole-to-galaxy Mass Ratio in the Last 7 Gyr
We present new constraints on the ratio of black hole (BH) mass to total galaxy stellar mass at 0.3 z 0.9 for a sample of 32 type-1 active galactic nuclei (AGNs) from the XMM-COSMOS survey covering the range M BH ~ 107.2 - 8.7 M sun. Virial M BH estimates based on Hβ are available from the COSMOS Magellan/IMACS survey. We use high-resolution

  • Search for very extended ionized gas in Seyfert galaxies: Mrk 938
We present deep images on the Hα emission plus an adjacent continuum obtained with OSIRIS/GTC, using the TF red in scanning mode for the Seyfert 2 galaxy Mrk 938. We detect HII regions so far (35 kpc) and two filaments with diffuse emission in the Hα pure images. We obtain Hα fluxes and we estimate velocities for these regions.

  • Search and characterization of T-type planetary mass candidates in the σ Orionis cluster
We present new photometric and astrometric data available for S Ori 70 and 73, the two T-type planetary-mass member candidates in the σ Orionis cluster (~3 +/- 2 Myr, d~360 pc). S Ori 70 (J ~ 19.9 mag) has a spectral type of T5.5 +/- 1.0 measured from published near-infrared spectra, while no spectroscopic data are available for S Ori 73 (J ~ 21

  • SDSS J163030.58+423305.8: a 40-min orbital period detached white dwarf binary
We report the discovery of a new detached, double white dwarf (WD) system with an orbital period of 39.8 min. We targeted SDSS J163030.58+423305.8 (hereafter J1630) as part of our radial velocity programme to search for companions around low-mass WDs using the 6.5-m MMT. We detect peak-to-peak radial velocity variations of 576 km s-1. The mass
