  • Exploring the Mid-infrared SEDs of Six AGN Dusty Torus Models. I. Synthetic Spectra
At distances from the active galaxy nucleus where the ambient temperature falls below ̃1500-1800 K, dust is able to survive. It is thus possible to have a large dusty structure present that surrounds the active galaxy nucleus. This is the first of two papers aiming at comparing six dusty torus models with available spectral energy distributions

  • Evidence of a fast bar in the weakly-interacting galaxy NGC 4264 with MUSE
We present surface photometry and stellar kinematics of NGC 4264, a barred lenticular galaxy in the region of the Virgo Cluster undergoing a tidal interaction with one of its neighbours, NGC 4261. We measured the bar radius (abar = 3.2 ± 0.5 kpc) and strength (Sbar = 0.31 ± 0.04) of NGC 4264 from Sloan Digital Sky Survey imaging and its bar pattern

  • Discovery and analysis of a ULX nebula in NGC 3521
We present Very Large Telescope/X-shooter and Chandra X-ray observatory/ACIS observations of the ULX [SST2011] J110545.62 + 000016.2 in the galaxy NGC 3521. The source identified as a candidate near-infrared counterpart to the ULX in our previous study shows an emission line spectrum of numerous recombination and forbidden lines in the visible and

  • Constraints on Gamma-Ray and Neutrino Emission from NGC 1068 with the MAGIC Telescopes
Starburst galaxies and star-forming active galactic nuclei are among the candidate sources thought to contribute appreciably to the extragalactic gamma-ray and neutrino backgrounds. NGC 1068 is the brightest of the star-forming galaxies found to emit gamma-rays from 0.1 to 50 GeV. Precise measurements of the high-energy spectrum are crucial to

  • A Reverse Shock in GRB 181201A
We present comprehensive multiwavelength radio to X-ray observations of GRB 181201A spanning from ≈150 s to ≈163 days after the burst, comprising the first joint ALMA─VLA─GMRT observations of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) afterglow. The radio and millimeter-band data reveal a distinct signature at ≈3.9 days, which we interpret as reverse-shock (RS)

  • A High Sensitivity Fourier Transform Spectrometer for Cosmic Microwave Back-ground Observations
The QUIJOTE Experiment was developed to study the polarization in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) over the frequency range of 10-50 GHz. Its first instrument, the Multi-Frequency-Instrument (MFI), measures in the range 10-20 GHz which coincides with one of the naturally transparent windows in the atmosphere. The Tenerife Microwave
