  • Mapping the stellar age of the Milky Way bulge with the VVV. III. High-resolution reddening map
Context. A detailed study of the Galactic bulge stellar population necessarily requires an accurate representation of the interstellar extinction, particularly toward the Galactic plane and center, where severe and differential reddening is expected to vary on sub-arcmin scales. Although recent infrared surveys have addressed this problem by

  • Maintaining the Ephemeris of 20 CoRoT Planets: Transit Minimum Times and Potential Transit Timing Variations
We present 33 transit minimum times of 20 transiting planets discovered by the CoRoT space mission. These have been obtained from ground-based observations since the missionís end in 2012, with the objective to maintain the ephemeris of these planets and to identify potential transit time variations. Twelve of the observed planets are in the CoRoT

  • LiteBIRD satellite: JAXA's new strategic L-class mission for all-sky surveys of cosmic microwave background polarization
LiteBIRD, the Lite (Light) satellite for the study of B-mode polarization and Inflation from cosmic background Radiation Detection, is a space mission for primordial cosmology and fundamental physics. JAXA selected LiteBIRD in May 2019 as a strategic large-class (L-class) mission, with its expected launch in the late 2020s using JAXA's H3 rocket

  • KMT-2019-BLG-0842Lb: A Cold Planet below the Uranus/Sun Mass Ratio
    We report the discovery of a cold planet with a very low planet/host mass ratio of q = (4.09 ± 0.27) × 10 -5, which is similar to the ratio of Uranus/Sun (q = 4.37 × 10 -5) in the solar system. The Bayesian estimates for the host mass, planet mass, system distance, and planet-host projected separation are M host = 0.76 ± 0.40M ☉, M planet = 10.3 ±

  • Intensity interferometry with MAGIC
MAGIC is a system of two 17m diameter Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs) situated on the observatory of the Roque de los Muchachos on the island of La Palma, 2200m asl. MAGIC is currently in operation for the observation of VHE gamma-ray sources. Here we report the installation of a system to perform intensity interferometry

  • Integration and early testing of WEAVE: the next-generation spectroscopy facility for the William Herschel Telescope
We present an update on the overall integration progress of the WEAVE next-generation spectroscopy facility for the William Herschel Telescope (WHT), now scheduled for first light in early-2021, with almost all components now arrived at the observatory. We also present a summary of the current planning behind the 5-year initial phase of survey
