  • Large-amplitude Prominence Oscillations following Impact by a Coronal Jet
Observational evidence shows that coronal jets can hit prominences and set them in motion. The impact leads to large-amplitude oscillations (LAOs) in the prominence. In this paper, we attempt to understand this process via 2.5D MHD numerical experiments. In our model, the jets are generated in a sheared magnetic arcade above a parasitic bipolar

  • Is the Bremer Deep Field reionized, at z ∼ 7?
We show herein that the population of star-forming galaxies in the Bremer Deep Field (BDF) has enough ionizing power to form two large ionized bubbles that could be in the process of merging into a large one with a volume of 14 000 cMpc 3. The sources identified in the BDF have been completed with a set of expected low-luminosity sources at z ∼ 7

  • Investigating the projected phase space of Gaussian and non-Gaussian clusters
By way of the projected phase space (PPS), we investigate the relation between galaxy properties and cluster environment in a subsample of groups from the Yang catalogue. The sample is split according to the Gaussianity of the velocity distribution in the group into Gaussian (G) and non-Gaussian (NG). Our sample is limited to massive clusters with

  • Integrated Molar Absorptivity of Mid- and Far-Infrared Spectra of Glycine and Other Selected Amino Acids
A selection of five proteinogenic amino acids—glycine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan—were studied in the mid-infrared and in the far-infrared with the purpose to facilitate the search and identification of these astrobiologically and astrochemically relevant molecules in space environments. The molar extinction coefficients (ɛ

  • Improved method of hydrous mineral detection by latitudinal distribution of 0.7-μm surface reflectance absorption on the asteroid Ryugu
Global multiband images of the C-type asteroid (162173) Ryugu were obtained by the optical navigation camera telescope (ONC-T) onboard Hayabusa2. The 0.7-μm absorption depth of the surface reflectance spectrum, which indicates the presence of hydrous minerals, was not clearly seen on Ryugu using flat field correction data obtained in the preflight

  • Hubble spectroscopy of LB-1: Comparison with B+black-hole and Be+stripped-star models
Context. LB-1 (alias ALS 8775) has been proposed as either an X-ray dim B-type star plus black hole (B+BH) binary or a Be star plus an inflated stripped star (Be+Bstr) binary. The latter hypothesis contingent upon the detection and characterization of the hidden broad-lined star in a composite optical spectrum. Aims: Our study is aimed at testing
