  • The Impact of Limited Time Resolution on the Forward-scattering Polarization in the Solar Sr I 4607 Å Line
Theoretical investigations predicted that high spatiotemporal resolution observations in the Sr I 4607 Å line must show a conspicuous scattering polarization pattern at the solar disk center, which encodes information on the unresolved magnetism of the intergranular photospheric plasma. Here we present a study of the impact of limited time

  • The infrared-radio correlation of star-forming galaxies is strongly M⋆-dependent but nearly redshift-invariant since z ∼ 4
Over the past decade, several works have used the ratio between total (rest 8‒1000 μm) infrared and radio (rest 1.4 GHz) luminosity in star-forming galaxies (q IR), often referred to as the infrared-radio correlation (IRRC), to calibrate the radio emission as a star formation rate (SFR) indicator. Previous studies constrained the evolution of q IR

  • The OTELO survey as a morphological probe. Last ten Gyr of galaxy evolution. The mass-size relation up to z = 2
Context. The morphology of galaxies provide us with a unique tool for relating and understanding other physical properties and their changes over the course of cosmic time. It is only recently that we have been afforded access to a wealth of data for an unprecedented number galaxies thanks to large and deep surveys. Aims: We present the

  • The Star Formation History of Eridanus II: On the Role of Supernova Feedback in the Quenching of Ultrafaint Dwarf Galaxies
Eridanus II (Eri II) is an ultrafaint dwarf (UFD) galaxy (M V = -7.1) located at a distance close to the Milky Way virial radius. Early shallow color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) indicated that it possibly hosted an intermediate-age or even young stellar population, which is unusual for a galaxy of this mass. In this paper, we present new Hubble Space

  • No Evidence for Orbital Clustering in the Extreme Trans-Neptunian Objects
The apparent clustering in longitude of perihelion ϖ and ascending node Ω of extreme trans-Neptunian objects (ETNOs) has been attributed to the gravitational effects of an unseen 5-10 Earth-mass planet in the outer solar system. To investigate how selection bias may contribute to this clustering, we consider 14 ETNOs discovered by the Dark Energy

  • A tidally tilted sectoral dipole pulsation mode in the eclipsing binary TIC 63328020
We report the discovery of the third tidally tilted pulsator, TIC 63328020. Observations with the TESS satellite reveal binary eclipses with an orbital period of 1.1057 d, and δ Scuti-type pulsations with a mode frequency of 21.09533 d -1. This pulsation exhibits a septuplet of orbital sidelobes as well as a harmonic quintuplet. Using the oblique
