  • A photometric method to determine supermassive black hole masses
We report the discovery of a strong correlation between the shape of a bulge's light-profile and the mass of its central supermassive black hole (Mbh). We find that log(Mbh/Msun) = 2.91(+/-0.38)log(n) + 6.37(+/-0.21), where n is the Sérsic r1/n shape index. This correlation is shown to be at least as strong as the relationship between the logarithm

  • A New spectral stellar library for population synthesis
A new spectral stellar library designed to be included in population synthesis models is presented. The library, which has been obtained at the INT 2.5 m telescope (La Palma) comprises ~ 1100 stars and covers the spectral range lambda lambda 3500-7500.

  • A Multiwavelength Study of NLS1 Galaxies from the Second Byurakan Survey
In this work we present some results of the multiwavelength study performed to a sample of 26 NLS1s discovered in the Second Byurakan Survey (SBS NLS1s). One of our main findings is that almost all SBS NLS1s may not have the FIR bump. Their SED suggest that they may also possess the BBB. In contrast with previous works, we have found weak soft X

  • Visible and Near Infrared Spectroscopic and Spectrophotometric Observations of NEOs
In august 2002 we started an observational program to obtain physical information of a significant number of Near Earth Objects by means of simultaneous visible and near infrared spectroscopy and spectrophotometry using telescope facilities of Teide and El Roque de los Muchachos Observatories (Canary Islands, Spain). Near infrared spectroscopy is

  • Variations in the Nuclear Spectra of Comet 28P/Neujmin 1
Jupiter-family comets are of particular interest for several reasons, including the fact that they are the most accessible to spacecraft. These comets also present the best opportunities to study cometary nuclear surfaces. The characterization of cometary nuclear surfaces and their comparison with those of related populations such as extinct comet
