  • Optical Spectroscopy of SWIFT J1753.5-0127
Spectra of the optical counterpart to the gamma ray source SWIFT J1753.5-0127 (ATEL #546,#547,#549,#550) were acquired on 2005 July 3th 03:52-09:48 UT with the FAST spectrograph mounted at the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5m telescope. The spectra show a blue continuum with Halpha being the only emission line detected in the averaged spectrum (S/N

  • Optical and infrared monitoring of SWIFT J1753.3-0127
We report preliminary optical/infrared photometry and spectroscopy of the SWIFT J1753.3-0127 transient (ATEL #546, #549) obtained at Fred Whipple Observatory (FLWO), Mt. Hopkins, AZ. Nightly R-band photometry was acquired with the FLWO 1.2m telescope between July 2-11 2005 UT achieving a PSF FWHM of 1.8-2.8 arcsec and typically using 60s exposure

  • On the Extreme Positive Feedback Star-forming Mode from Massive and Compact Super Star Clusters
The force of gravity acting within the volume occupied by young, compact, and massive super star clusters is here shown to drive in situ all the matter deposited by winds and supernovae into several generations of star formation. These events are promoted by radiative cooling, which drains the thermal energy of the ejected gas causing its

  • MAG Waves in Sunspots Umbrae: Slow Waves Leaking to the Corona
The linear oscillations of a stratified atmosphere embedded in a uniform vertical magnetic field are studied here. We use a simple theoretical model, formed by the superposition of two isothermal layers, representing, respectively, i) the photosphere and the chromosphere, and ii) the corona. The bottom layer behaves, for some modes, as a resonant

  • Luminous X-ray sources Chandra fluxes (Alonso-Herrero+, 2004)
We investigate the luminous X-ray sources in the Lockman Hole (LH) and the extended Groth strip (EGS) detected at 24{mu}m using the Multiband Imaging Photometer (MIPS) and also with the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) on board the Spitzer Space Telescope. We assemble optical/infrared spectral energy distributions (SEDs) for 45 X-ray/24{mu}m sources in
