  • On the nature of lithium-rich giant stars. Constraints from beryllium abundances
We have derived beryllium abundances for 7 Li-rich giant (A(Li) > 1.5) stars and 10 other Li-normal giants with the aim of investigating the origin of the lithium in the Li-rich giants. In particular, we test the predictions of the engulfment scenario proposed by Siess & Livio (1999, MNRAS, 308, 1133), where the engulfment of a brown dwarf or one

  • Near-infrared Spectra of Two Asteroids with Low Tisserand Invariant
We present near-infrared reflectance spectra of two asteroids with low Tisserand invariant, 2906 Caltech and 1373 Cincinnati. The Tisserand invariant is a commonly used dynamical discriminator, with values less than 3 considered suggestive of cometary origin. Asteroids Caltech and Cincinnati have Tisserand invariant values of 2.97 and 2.72

  • Jupiter Trojans: a Survey of Members of Dynamical Families
Since 2002, we started an observational program on Jupiter Trojans at ESO-NTT, ESO-VLT and TNG. We carried out visible and near-infrared spectroscopy and photometry of members of dynamical families, as defined by Beauge and Roig (2001), and of several background objects. The aim of these observations was to improve our knowledge of the surface
