    We present SEDs for single-age, single-metallicity stellar populations (SSPs) covering the full optical spectral range at resolution (FWHM = 2.3Å).     Mild Velocity Dispersion Evolution of massive galaxies since z~2
    Making use of public spectra from Cimatti et al. (2008), we measure for the first time the velocity dispersion of spheroid-like massive (M* ~ 1011M&sun;) galaxies at z ~ 1.6. By comparing with galaxies of similar stellar mass at lower redshifts, we find evidence for a mild evolution in velocity dispersion, decreasing from ~240 kms-1 at z ~ 1.6 down

    Microbial Communities that are Concealed Within Mineral Deposits: Expanding our Detection of Life
    In addition to clearly biological microbial mats, lava tubes contain many non-biological appearing mineral deposits that contain life. The discovery that such deposits contain abundant life can help guide our detection of life on other extrater-restrial bodies.
