  • MAXIJ1836-194: 1.23m CAHA I-band observations
We observed the optical counterpart of MAXI J1836-194 (Negoro et al., ATel#3611; Kennea et al., ATel#3613) with the 82cm IAC80 telescope at the Observatorio del Teide, Tenerife, Spain. We acquired 94 I-band images on Sep 28.83079--28.93356 UT (starting 39 minutes after Swift trigger 504307; Barthelmy et al., GCN 12405) with an exposure time of 1

  • Iron Depletion in Ionized Nebulae of the Large Magellanic Cloud
We present here preliminary results of an analysis of the iron abundance in the ionized gas of three planetary nebulae and one H II region of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). These results are compared with the ones we obtain for a sample of Galactic and extragalactic nebulae. We find that the amounts of iron depletion into dust grains in LMC

  • Integral field spectroscopy of selected areas of the Bright bar and Orion-S cloud in the Orion nebula
We present integral field spectroscopy of two selected zones in the Orion nebula obtained with the Potsdam Multi-Aperture Spectrophotometer, covering the optical spectral range from 3500 to 7200 Å and with a spatial resolution of 1 arcsec. The observed zones are located on the prominent Bright bar and on the brightest area at the north-east of the

  • Implications of Burst Oscillations from the Slowly Rotating Accreting Pulsar IGR J17480-2446 in the Globular Cluster Terzan 5
The recently discovered accreting X-ray pulsar IGR J17480-2446 spins at a frequency of ~11 Hz. We show that Type I X-ray bursts from this source display oscillations at the same frequency as the stellar spin. IGR J17480-2446 is the first secure case of a slowly rotating neutron star (NS) which shows Type I burst oscillations (BOs), all other
