PhD opportunities
Resident Astrophysicist Programme
The IAC offers annually up to six pre-doctoral contracts in Astrophysics and Astrophysics Instrumentation for young university graduates worldwide. These contracts are renewable annually up to a maximum of four years.
The successful candidates will work at the IAC in La Laguna in a stimulating and vibrant environment. Each student will join a research group at the IAC within the framework of a state-of-the-art research project and under the supervision of IAC staff. This will lead to a PhD thesis and eventually to a doctoral degree.
Applicants must hold a university degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering, depending on the profile of the contracts offered every year.
You can find thc current year call here.
Before you can register at the University of La Laguna (ULL) as a new PhD student, you must provide evidence that you have met the University's general entry requirements and the specific academic requirements of our PhD in Astrophysics Programme for incorporation to the IAC by October 1st. The entry requirements for student admission can be found here.
