  • Transformations between the WISE, 2MASS, SDSS and BVRI photometric systems - I. Transformation equations for dwarfs
We present colour transformations for the conversion of the W1 and W2 magnitudes of the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) photometric system to the Johnson-Cousins BVRI, Sloan Digital Sky Survey gri and Two-Micron All-Sky Survey JHKs photometric systems, for dwarfs. The W3 and W4 magnitudes were not considered due to their insufficient

  • Transiting exoplanets from the CoRoT space mission . XIII. CoRoT-13b: a dense hot Jupiter in transit around a star with solar metallicity and super-solar lithium content
We announce the discovery of the transiting planet CoRoT-13b. Ground-based follow-up in CFHT and IAC80 confirmed CoRoT's observations. The mass of the planet was measured with the HARPS spectrograph and the properties of the host star were obtained analyzing HIRES spectra from the Keck telescope. It is a hot Jupiter-like planet with an orbital

  • Transverse Component of the Magnetic Field in the Solar Photosphere Observed by SUNRISE
We present the first observations of the transverse component of a photospheric magnetic field acquired by the imaging magnetograph SUNRISE/IMaX. Using an automated detection method, we obtain statistical properties of 4536 features with significant linear polarization signal. We obtain a rate of occurrence of 7 × 10-4 s-1 arcsec-2, which is 1-2

  • TrES-2: The First Transiting Planet in the Kepler Field
We announce the discovery of the second transiting hot Jupiter discovered by the Trans-atlantic Exoplanet Survey. The planet, which we dub TrES-2, orbits the nearby star GSC 03549-02811 every 2.47063 days. From high-resolution spectra, we determine that the star has Teff=5960+/-100 K and logg=4.4+/-0.2, implying a spectral type of G0 V and a mass

  • TrES-5: A Massive Jupiter-sized Planet Transiting a Cool G Dwarf
We report the discovery of TrES-5, a massive hot Jupiter that transits the star GSC 03949-00967 every 1.48 days. From spectroscopy of the star we estimate a stellar effective temperature of T eff = 5171 ± 36 K, and from high-precision B, R, and I photometry of the transit we constrain the ratio of the semimajor axis a and the stellar radius R

  • Turbulent eddy-time-correlation in the solar convective zone
Theoretical modeling of the driving processes of solar-like oscillations is a powerful way of understanding the properties of the convective zones of solar-type stars. In this framework, the description of the temporal correlation between turbulent eddies is an essential ingredient to model mode amplitudes. However, there is a debate between a
