  • Bulges of disk galaxies at intermediate redshifts. II. Nuclear, disk, and global colors in the Groth Strip
Context: The chronology of bulge and disk formation is a major unsolved issue in galaxy formation, which impacts on our global understanding of the Hubble sequence. Aims: We analyse colours of the nuclear regions of intermediate redshift disk galaxies, with the aim of obtaining empirical information of relative ages of bulges and disks at 0.1 z 1

  • CaII triplet in Sextans dSph galaxy (Battaglia+, 2011)
The spectroscopic observations were carried out at VLT/FLAMES between 2003 and 2004, with the exception of one pointing which was re-observed in 2008 May, during the commissioning of the upgraded Grating Instrument for Radiation Analysis with a Fiber-FedEchelle (GIRAFFE) spectrograph CCD. • CALIFA reveals prolate rotation in massive early-type galaxies: A polar galaxy merger origin?
We present new evidence for eight early-type galaxies (ETGs) from the CALIFA Survey that show clear rotation around their major photometric axis ("prolate rotation"). These are LSBCF560-04, NGC 0647, NGC 0810, NGC 2484, NGC 4874, NGC 5216, NGC 6173, and NGC 6338. Including NGC 5485, a known case of an ETG with stellar prolate rotation, as well as

  • CALIFA, the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area survey. IV. Third public data release
This paper describes the third public data release (DR3) of the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area (CALIFA) survey. Science-grade quality data for 667 galaxies are made public, including the 200 galaxies of the second public data release (DR2). Data were obtained with the integral-field spectrograph PMAS/PPak mounted on the 3.5 m telescope at

  • Candidate Planetary Nebulae in M81 (Magrini+, 2001)
File table1.dat contains the identification number, the coordinates (2000), the [OIII]5007 and the Hα+[NII] flux of the candidate PNe detected in Messier 81, using the Isaac Newton Telescope (INT) (La Palma, Spain) in 2000, December and 2001, January. The accuracy on position is approximately 0.5 arcsec. (1 data file).
