  • Precise X-ray position of A1744-36 (=XTE J1748-361?)
    The Ariel-5 X-ray transient A1744-36 and the newly-discovered transient XTE J1748-361 may be identical (ATEL #204). Based on a 16 ks Chandra ACIS-S observation of A1744-36 made on 2003 May 28, the position of this source is RA(J2000) = 17:48:19.22, Dec(J2000) = -36:07:16.6 (uncertainty < 1").

  • Observing the Dark Matter Density Profile of Isolated Galaxies
    Using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), we probe the halo mass distribution by studying the velocities of satellites orbiting isolated galaxies.   • JEM-X observations of the Be/X-ray binary EXO 2030+375
    We have used data from the Joint European Monitor (JEM-X) to perform an X-ray spectral and timing analysis of the 42-s transient pulsar EXO 2030+375 during an X-ray outburst.
