  • Multi-wavelength Observations of Dynamic Fibrils in the Upper Photosphere and Chromosphere
Spatial and temporal evolution of dynamic fibrils (DF) as well as coupling with photospheric features was investigated. The main target were remnants in the active region 10997 on May 28, 2008. We used about 1 hour series of multi wavelength simultaneous observations of the DFs and corresponding photospheric features. The observations were

  • Multi-layer Study of Wave Propagation in Sunspots
Observations in different spectral lines give us information about the different layers of the solar atmosphere. Here we analyze the propagation of waves in sunspots from the photosphere to the chromosphere using time series of cospatial Ca II H intensity spectra and polarimetric spectra of Si I 10827 A and He I 10830 A multiplet. From the Doppler

  • MISMA inversion of HINODE SOT/SP and IBIS data: Preliminary Results
We present the preliminary results derived from the MISMA inversion of Stokes I and V profiles of FeI 630.1nm FeI 630.2nm lines observed with: 1. SOT/SP instrument aboard the HINODE satellite. 2. IBIS in spectropolarimetric mode imaging, supported by simultaneous white light and G-band images, for blind deconvolution reconstruction. The complete

  • Misaligned spin-orbit in the XO-3 planetary system?
The transiting extrasolar planet XO-3b is remarkable, with a high mass and eccentric orbit. These unusual characteristics make it interesting to test whether its orbital plane is parallel to the equator of its host star, as it is observed for other transiting planets. We performed radial velocity measurements of XO-3 with the SOPHIE spectrograph at

  • Magnetic Flux Emergence and Jet Formation in Coronal Holes
Recent observations of coronal holes with Hinode show with unprecedented detail the launching of fast and hot jets. Many of these jets are found to coincide with the emergence of new magnetic flux, and it is generally assumed that the jets are initiated by magnetic reconnection between the new emerging flux and the existing open magnetic field
