  • Stellar Populations of Bulges of Disc Galaxies in Clusters
Photometry and long-slit spectroscopy are presented for 14 S0 and spiral galaxies of the Fornax, Eridanus and Pegasus clusters and the NGC 7582 group. The age, metallicity and α/Fe enhancement of the stellar population in the centres and their gradients are obtained using stellar population models with variable element abundance ratios. Most of the

  • Stellar populations of bulges in 14 cluster disc galaxies
Photometry and long-slit spectroscopy are presented for 14 S0 and spiral galaxies of the Fornax, Eridanus and Pegasus cluster, and NGC 7582 group. The structural parameters of the galaxies are derived from the R-band images by performing a two-dimensional photometric decomposition of the surface brightness distribution. This is assumed to be the

  • Stellar Kinematics in Double-Barred Galaxies: The σ-Hollows
We present SAURON integral-field stellar velocity and velocity dispersion maps for four double-barred early-type galaxies: NGC 2859, NGC 3941, NGC 4725, and NGC 5850. The presence of the inner bar does not produce major changes in the line-of-sight velocity, but it appears to have an important effect in the stellar velocity dispersion maps: we find

  • Seven young star clusters in the inner region of the Small Magellanic Cloud
We present CCD photometry in the Washington system C and T1 passbands down to T1 ~ 22 in the fields of L35, L45, L49, L50, L62, L63 and L85, seven poorly studied star clusters in the inner region of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). We measured T1 magnitudes and C - T1 colours for a total of 114826 stars distributed throughout cluster areas of 13.7
