  • Fundamental properties of high mass X-ray binaries
High mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs) are important laboratories where to study the characteristics of the accretion processes and the nature of compact objects. For this reason, we have started the determination of the fundamental properties (mass, radius, temperature, etc.) of the optical components in four systems: 2S 0114+65, IGR J00370+6122, XTE

  • Finding the compositional diversity of the Solar System
Asteroids can be defined as objects that do not have an atmosphere, are smaller than the planets and orbit the Sun. But, what is most important, asteroids are the remnants of the first forming blocks of the Solar System. The main asteroid population is located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, in a region called the Main Belt (MB). Other

  • Evolution of the fundamental plane of early-type galaxies in the EGS
We studied the evolution of the Fundamental Plane in B and g-bands, for a sample of early--type galaxies in the redshift range 0.2 z 1.2. Assuming that effective radii and velocity dispersions do not evolve with redshift, we found that the galaxies at ˜ 0.7 were 0.68 mag brighter in the B-band and 0.52 mag brighter in the g-band, than their local

  • Evolution of fundamental parameters in emission line galaxies up to z = 0.4
In this work we focus on the evolution of the SFR, metallicity of the gas, and morphology of galaxies at low redshift in search of signs of evolution. We analyzed the evolution of the SFR, metallicity, and morphology, through the mass-metallicity, luminosity-metallicity, SFR-stellar mass, and SFR-metallicity relationships of star-forming galaxies
