  • Dust Reverberation Mapping in Distant Quasars from Optical and Mid-infrared Imaging Surveys
The size of the dust torus in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and their high-luminosity counterparts, quasars, can be inferred from the time delay between UV/optical accretion disk continuum variability and the response in the mid-infrared (MIR) torus emission. This dust reverberation mapping (RM) technique has been successfully applied to ∼70 z ≲ 0

  • Cosmic Amorphous Dust Model as the Origin of Anomalous Microwave Emission
We have shown that the thermal emission of the amorphous dust composed of amorphous silicate dust (a-Si) and amorphous carbon dust (a-C) provides an excellent fit both to the observed intensity and the polarization spectra of molecular clouds. The anomalous microwave emission (AME) originates from the resonance transition of the two-level systems

  • Constraining the oblateness of transiting planets with photometry and spectroscopy
Rapid planetary rotation can cause the equilibrium shape of a planet to be oblate. While planetary oblateness has mostly been probed by examining the subtle ingress and egress features in photometric transit light curves, we investigate the effect of oblateness on the spectroscopic Rossiter-McLaughlin (RM) signals. We found that a giant planet

  • Completing the 3CR Chandra Snapshot Survey: Extragalactic Radio Sources at High Redshift
We present the analysis of nine radio sources belonging to the Third Cambridge Revised catalog (3CR) observed with Chandra during Cycle 20 in the redshift range between 1.5 and 2.5. This study completes the 3CR Chandra Snapshot Survey thus guaranteeing the X-ray coverage of all 3CR sources identified to date. This sample lists two compact steep

  • CO emission in distant galaxies on and above the main sequence
We present the detection of multiple carbon monoxide CO line transitions with ALMA in a few tens of infrared-selected galaxies on and above the main sequence at z = 1.1-1.7. We reliably detected the emission of CO (5 - 4), CO (2 - 1), and CO (7 - 6)+[C I]( 3P 2 - 3P 1) in 50, 33, and 13 galaxies, respectively, and we complemented this information
