  • Extended Aperture Photometry of K2 RR Lyrae stars
The Kepler Space Telescope observed thousands of RR Lyrae stars in the K2 mission. In this paper, we present our photometric solutions using extended apertures in order to conserve the flux of the stars to the highest possible extent. With this method, we are able to avoid most of the problems that RR Lyrae light curves produced by other pipelines

  • Fast-to-Alfvén Mode Conversion and Ambipolar Heating in Structured Media. II. Numerical Simulation
This paper studies the effectiveness of production of Alfvén waves in the solar atmosphere through the processes of mode conversion, taking into account several new effects that have not been considered before. We perform simulations of wave propagation and conversion from the photosphere to the corona. Both magnetic field and plasma parameters are

  • Fullerenes in the IC 348 star cluster of the Perseus molecular cloud
We present the detection of fullerenes C 60 and C 70 in the star-forming region IC 348 of the Perseus molecular cloud. Mid-IR vibrational transitions of C 60 and C 70 in emission are found in Spitzer IRS spectra of individual stars (LRLL 1, 2, 58), in the averaged spectrum of three other cluster stars (LRLL 21, 31, and 67) and in spectra obtained

  • Integration of the Data Reduction Pipeline of EMIR During Its Commissioning
EMIR is a near-infrarred multiobject spectrograph for the Gran Telescopio Canarias. We describe the integration of its data processing pipeline in the telescope control system.

  • Manufacturing of 3D-metallic electromagnetic metamaterials for feedhorns usedin radioastronomy and satellite communications
The electromagnetic metamaterials at microwaves frequencies are well established in industrial applications nowadays. Recent research has shown that a specific kind of metallic metamaterial can contribute to improve the performance of the microwave feedhorns used in radioastronomy and satellite telecommunications. In this article, we theoretically
