  • Understanding the Angular Momentum Evolution of T Tauri and Herbig Ae/Be Stars
We investigate a sample of six Herbig Ae/Be stars belonging to the Orion OB1 association, as well as 73 low-mass objects, members of the σ Orionis cluster, in order to explore the angular momentum evolution at early stages of evolution, and its possible connection with main-sequence Ap/Bp magnetic stars. Using FIES and HECTOCHELLE spectra, we

  • Wavelength Dependence of Activity-induced Photometric Variations for Young Cool Stars in Hyades
We investigate photometric variations due to stellar activity that induce systematic radial-velocity errors (so-called "jitter") for the four targets in the Hyades open cluster observed by the K2 mission (EPIC 210721261, EPIC 210923016, EPIC 247122957, and EPIC 247783757). Applying Gaussian process regressions to the K2 light curves and the near

  • A feather on the hat: tracing the giant stellar stream around the Sombrero galaxy
Recent evidence of extremely metal-rich stars found in the Sombrero galaxy (M104) halo suggests that this galaxy has undergone a recent major merger with a relatively massive galaxy. In this paper, we present wide-field deep images of the M104 outskirts obtained with a 18-cm amateur telescope with the purpose of detecting any coherent tidal

  • Binary central stars of planetary nebulae identified with Kepler/K2
We present the identification of 34 likely binary central stars (CSs) of planetary nebulae (PNe) from Kepler/K2 data, seven of which show eclipses. Of these, 29 are new discoveries. Two additional CSs with more complicated variability are also presented. We examined the light curves of all 'possible', 'likely', and 'true' PNe in every Kepler/K2

  • HiPERCAM: a quintuple-beam, high-speed optical imager on the 10.4-m Gran Telescopio Canarias
HiPERCAM is a portable, quintuple-beam optical imager that saw first light on the 10.4-m Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC) in 2018. The instrument uses re-imaging optics and four dichroic beamsplitters to record $u_{\rm s}\, g_{\rm s}\, r_{\rm s}\, i_{\rm s}\, z_{\rm s}$ (320-1060 nm) images simultaneously on its five CCD cameras, each of 3.1-arcmin

  • Multiwavelength observations reveal a faint candidate black hole X-ray binary in IGR J17285-2922
IGR J17285-2922 is a known X-ray binary with a low peak 2-10 keV X-ray luminosity of ~ 10 36 erg s -1 during outburst. IGR J17285-2922 exhibited two outbursts in 2003 and 2010 and went into outburst again in 2019. We have monitored this ~ 4-month long 2019 outburst with Swift in X-ray and the Very Large Array in radio. We have also obtained four
