New generation Stokes inversion codesWe utilize the concept of sparsity or compressibility to develop an new generation of inversion codes for the Stokes parameters. The inversion code uses numerical optimization techniques based on the idea of proximal algorithms to impose sparsity. In so doing, we allow to exploit the presence of spatial correlation on the maps of physicalAsensio, A. et al.

New insights into the study of magnetic field in the clumpy torus of AGN using near-infrared polarimetryWe present J, H and Kn imaging polarimetry of IC5063. NIR polarimetry observations may advance our understanding of the mechanisms of polarisation and hence magnetic field strength in the torus of AGN. In these proceedings we summarize the polarisation results of the central 1.2'' aperture (˜263 pc) of IC5063. We present a simple polarising modelPerlman, E. et al.

New neighbours. III. 21 new companions to nearby dwarfs, discovered with adaptive opticsWe present some results of a CFHT adaptive optics search for companions to nearby dwarfs. We identify 21 new components in solar neighbourhood systems, of which 13 were found while surveying a volume-limited sample of M dwarfs within 12 pc. We are obtaining complete observations for this subsample, to derive unbiased multiplicity statistics for theBeuzit, J.-L. et al.

New neighbours. VI. Spectroscopy of DENIS nearby stars candidatesWe present spectra of 36 nearby star candidates and 3 red giant candidates, identified in the DENIS database. 32 of the dwarf candidates are nearby red dwarfs, with spectral types from M 5.5 to M 8.5. Out of 11 targets with low proper motion (μ 0.1 arcsec yr^-1) but a Reduced Proper Motion above an inclusive threshold, 9 are red dwarfs. The 4Crifo, F. et al.

New Teff and [Fe/H] spectroscopic calibration for FGK dwarfs and GK giantsContext. The ever-growing number of large spectroscopic survey programs has increased the importance of fast and reliable methods with which to determine precise stellar parameters. Some of these methods are highly dependent on correct spectroscopic calibrations. Aims: The goal of this work is to obtain a new spectroscopic calibration for a fastTeixeira, G. D. C. et al.
