  • Dark Energy Survey Year 3 results: magnification modelling and impact on cosmological constraints from galaxy clustering and galaxy-galaxy lensing
We study the effect of magnification in the Dark Energy Survey Year 3 analysis of galaxy clustering and galaxy-galaxy lensing, using two different lens samples: a sample of luminous red galaxies, redMaGiC, and a sample with a redshift-dependent magnitude limit, MagLim. We account for the effect of magnification on both the flux and size selection

  • Confronting fuzzy dark matter with the rotation curves of nearby dwarf irregular galaxies
Aims: In this paper, we carry out a phenomenological investigation of the viability of fuzzy dark matter, which is composed of coherent waves of non-interacting ultralight axions with a mass of m a ≈ 10 −22 eV. We did so by confronting the predictions of the model, in particular, the formation of a solitonic core at the center of dark matter halos

  • Characterization of the Ejecta from the NASA/DART Impact on Dimorphos: Observations and Monte Carlo Models
The NASA Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) spacecraft successfully crashed on Dimorphos, the secondary component of the binary (65803) Didymos system. Following the impact, a large dust cloud was released, and a long-lasting dust tail developed. We have extensively monitored the dust tail from the ground and the Hubble Space Telescope. We

  • Bayesian evidence for two slow-wave damping models in hot coronal loops
We computed the evidence in favour of two models, one based on field-aligned thermal conduction alone and another that includes thermal misbalance as well, to explain the damping of slow magneto-acoustic waves in hot coronal loops. Our analysis is based on the computation of the marginal likelihood and the Bayes factor for the two damping models

  • Axion-pion thermalization rate in unitarized NLO chiral perturbation theory
We compute the axion-pion scattering a π →π π , relevant for the axion thermalization rate in the early Universe, within unitarized next-to-leading-order chiral perturbation theory. The latter extends the range of validity of the chiral expansion of axion-pion scattering and thus provides a crucial ingredient for the reliable determination of the

  • A VLT/VIMOS view of two Planck multiple-cluster systems: Structure and galaxy properties
We analysed spectroscopic data obtained with VLT/VIMOS for two multiple-cluster systems, PLCKG214.6+36.9 and PLCKG334.8−38.0, discovered by Planck via their thermal Sunyaev-Zel'dovich signal. Combining the optical spectroscopy for the redshift determination and photometric data from galaxy surveys (SDSS, WISE and DESI), we were able to study the
