  • Spatially Resolved Spectral Energy Distributions of Nearby Galaxies
We present azimuthally-averaged spectral energy distributions (SEDs) from FUV to FIR, as a function of radius, for the galaxies included in the SINGS sample. The radial changes in these SEDs are interpreted in terms of variations of the relative contribution of stars (of different ages), dust and gas.

  • Spatially resolved near-infrared spectroscopy of the massive star-forming region IRAS 19410+2336
Aims: IRAS 19410+2336 is a young massive star forming region with an intense outflow activity. Outflows are frequently studied in the near-infrared (NIR) since the H2 emission in this wavelength range often traces the shocked molecular gas. However, the mechanisms behind the H2 emission detected in IRAS 19410+2336 have not been clarified yet. We

  • solarFLAG hare and hounds: estimation of p-mode frequencies from Sun-as-star helioseismology data
We report on the results of the latest solarFLAG hare-and-hounds exercise, which was concerned with testing methods for extraction of frequencies of low-degree solar p modes from data collected by Sun-as-a-star observations. We have used the new solarFLAG simulator, which includes the effects of correlated mode excitation and correlations with

  • Secular Evolution of Bulges Induced by Satellite Accretion
Satellite accretion events have been invoked for mimicking the internal secular evolutionary processes of bulge growth tep{Kormendy04}. In order to investigate this question, we perform N-body models of the accretion of satellites onto disk galaxies. A scaling between the primary and the satellite based on the Tully-Fisher relation ensures that the

  • Results of an analysis of SDSS galaxies in the VO
We present here the VO access to the results of an analysis of the spectra of Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) galaxies performed with the STARLIGHT code by te{Cidetal05}. The results include for each galaxy the original SDSS spectrum, the best-fit synthetic spectrum, the star formation history, the pure emission line spectrum corrected from
