  • Properties of the ionized gas in HH202 - I. Results from integral field spectroscopy with PMAS
We present results from integral field spectroscopy with the Potsdam Multi-Aperture Spectrograph of the head of the Herbig-Haro (HH) object HH202 with a spatial sampling of 1 × 1arcsec2. We have obtained maps of different emission lines, physical conditions - such as electron temperature and density - and ionic abundances from recombination and

  • Post-common-envelope binaries from SDSS - V. Four eclipsing white dwarf main-sequence binaries
We identify SDSS011009.09+132616.1, SDSS030308.35+005444.1, SDSS143547.87+ 373338.5 and SDSS154846.00+405728.8 as four eclipsing white dwarf plus main-sequence (WDMS) binaries from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), and report on follow-up observations of these systems. SDSS0110+1326, SDSS1435+3733 and SDSS1548+4057 contain DA white dwarfs, while

  • Polarized hydrogen emission lines in Mira stars: a mystery behind the shock
We present a full spectropolarimetric study (in the Stokes parameters I, Q, U and V) on omicron Ceti (the prototype of Mira stars), and focus on the strong polarization detected in Balmer emission lines. This study is made with observations from NARVAL instrument at TBL (Telescope Bernard Lyot) in Pic du Midi Observatory, France.

  • Periodic Radio and Hα Emission from the L Dwarf Binary 2MASSW J0746425+200032: Exploring the Magnetic Field Topology and Radius Of An L Dwarf
We present an 8.5 hr simultaneous radio, X-ray, UV, and optical observation of the L dwarf binary 2MASSW J0746425+200032. We detect strong radio emission, dominated by short-duration periodic pulses at 4.86 GHz with P = 124.32 ± 0.11 min. The stability of the pulse profiles and arrival times demonstrates that they are due to the rotational

  • Outflows from massive blue stars
We present in this contribution a revision of the origin, main properties and open issues in the field of winds of massive blue stars, with a particular emphasis in the ultraviolet observations

  • New ultra-cool dwarfs from SDSS and 2MASS (Zhang+, 2009)
SDSS and 2MASS photometry of 129 ultra-cool dwarf candidates. The photometric data are from the seventh Data Release of the SDSS Photometric and the 2MASS All-Sky Catalog of Point Sources. Proper motions are found by dividing the difference between the 2MASS and SDSS coordinates by the observational epoch difference. Spectral types are based on the
