  • Double Star Sketching
The details of your growing record of double star observations can easily be kept in a spreadsheet with columns included for position angle, separation, magnitude, and color. Those entries provide the raw data needed to describe your stellar journeys. However, the essence of what draws you to doubles may not be as obvious when you review your notes

  • Deep and Extended Multiband Photometry of the Galactic Globular Cluster M71
We present the preliminary results of the ground-based (MegaCam@ CFHT) and space-based (ACS@HST) photometry for the Galactic globular cluster M71. By comparing data and theory, we found that the age (11.0±1.5Gyr) of M71 agrees well with the bulk of the more metal poor globular clusters.

  • Data handling and control of the European Solar Telescope
We describe some aspects of the facility operation that have been considered for the design of the data handling and control of the European Solar Telescope. The main sub-systems of the EST relevant for the control are summarized, together with some information on current solar data models.

  • Constraints on the Effects of Reionization in the Star Formation History of Dwarf Galaxies: Some Conclusions from the LCID Project
In the context of the Local Cosmology from Isolated Dwarfs (LCID) project, we present detailed star formation and chemical enrichment histories for six isolated Local Group dwarf galaxies. One of the main goals of the LCID project is to investigate the influence of global processes like cosmic reionization, or internal mechanisms such as SNe
