  • PG 1553+113: Five Years of Observations with MAGIC
We present the results of five years (2005-2009) of MAGIC observations of the BL Lac object PG 1553+113 at very high energies (VHEs; E > 100 GeV). Power-law fits of the individual years are compatible with a steady mean photon index Γ = 4.27 ± 0.14. In the last three years of data, the flux level above 150 GeV shows a clear variability (probability

  • Padova-Millennium Galaxy and Group Catalogue (Calvi+, 2011)
To build a catalogue that satisfies our requirements of spectroscopic and photometric completeness, we used a set of galaxies derived from the Millennium Galaxy Catalogue (MGC, Cat. VII/240), a B-band imaging survey, both deep and wide, which provides a high-quality, complete representation of the nearby galaxy populations. (5 data files).

  • On the Radical Cation Spectra of Fullerenes and Fulleranes. Part 2: C60H36, C70H38, C60H18 and C60Hx/C70Hy Mixture
A series of fulleranes, namely C60H36, C70H38, C60H18 and a mixture of hydrogenated fullerenes composed by 77% C60Hx and 22% C70Hy, were dissolved in oleum (fuming sulfuric acid) in order to record the radical cation spectra of these molecules. Surprisingly, it was found that the fulleranes spectra in oleum corresponded to the radical cation

  • On the non-evolution of the dependence of black hole masses on bolometric luminosities for QSOs
There are extremely luminous quasi stellar objects (QSOs) at high redshift which are absent at low redshift. The lower luminosities at low redshifts can be understood as the external manifestation of either a lower Eddington ratio or a lower mass. To distinguish between both effects, we determine the possible dependence of masses and Eddington

  • On the Molar Extinction Coefficient and Integrated Molar Absorptivity of the Infrared Absorption Spectra of C-60 and C-70 Fullerenes
The molar extinction coefficients, known also as molar absorptivity epsilon, of C-60 and C-70 fullerenes infrared absorption spectra were determined at room temperature on samples embedded in KBr pellets. Furthermore, the integrated molar absorptivity Psi of each absorption infrared band either of C-60 and of C-70 was measured and reported together
