  • A MUSE map of the central Orion Nebula (M 42)
We present a new integral field spectroscopic dataset of the central part of the Orion Nebula (M 42), observed with the MUSE instrument at the ESO VLT. We reduced the data with the public MUSE pipeline. The output products are two FITS cubes with a spatial size of ~5.´9×4.´9 (corresponding to ~0.76 × 0.63 pc2) and a contiguous wavelength coverage

  • VLT X-Shooter spectroscopy of the nearest brown dwarf binary
Aims: The aim of the project is to characterise the two components of the brown dwarf system nearest to the Sun, WISE J104915.57-531906.1 (also called Luhman 16AB) at optical and near-infrared wavelengths. Methods: We obtained high signal-to-noise intermediate-resolution (R ~ 6000-11 000) optical (600-1000 nm) and near-infrared (1000-2480 nm)

  • Virgo cluster and field dwarf ellipticals in 3D - III. Spatially and temporally resolved stellar populations
We present the stellar population analysis of a sample of 12 dwarf elliptical galaxies, observed with the SAURON integral field unit, using the full-spectrum fitting method. We show that star formation histories (SFHs) resolved into two populations can be recovered even within a limited wavelength range, provided that high signal-to-noise ratio (S

  • Tracking Advanced Planetary Systems (TAPAS) with HARPS-N. II. Super Li-rich giant HD 107028
Context. Lithium-rich giant stars are rare objects. For some of them, Li enrichment exceeds the abundance of this element found in solar system meteorites, suggesting that these stars have gone through a Li enhancement process. Aims: We identified a Li-rich giant HD 107028 with A(Li) > 3.3 in a sample of evolved stars observed within the PennState

  • The radial abundance gradient of chlorine in the Milky Way
We determine the radial abundance gradient of Cl in the Milky Way from H II regions spectra. For the first time, the Cl/H ratios are computed by simply adding ionic abundances and not using an ionization correction factor (ICF). We use a collection of published very deep spectra of Galactic H II regions. We have recalculated the physical conditions

  • The NIR transmission spectrum of Jupiter from the observation of a Ganymede's eclipse
Here, we report the NIR transmission spectrum of Jupiter, with high signal-to-noise ratio, as if it were a transiting planet. Our technique was to observe Ganymede, when crossing Jupiter's shadow. During the eclipse, the spectral features of the Jovian atmosphere are imprinted in the sunlight that, after passing through Jupiter's planetary limb, is
