  • A Detailed Characterization of the Milky Way Bulge with APOGEE
An important part of the history of the Milky Way is encoded in the dynamics and chemistry of the inner Galaxy, which contains about 30% of its mass. It is only in the last few years that a composite picture of the bulge has begun to emerge: recent evidence points towards a population made of multiple components. The origin of the bulge appears to

  • 5 months of AMOS on the Canary Islands
We present the technology, its installation and the first results from the AMOS meteor system on the Canary Islands. Since March 15 2015, a pair of AMOS automatic all-sky cameras (at Observatory Teide (Tenerife) and Roque de los Muchachos (La Palma) of the Astronomical Institute of Canary Islands) has been observing regularly to record meteors on

  • The soundtrack of RR Lyrae in omega Cen at high-frequency.
We present preliminary Sloan u',g'-band light curves for a sample of known RR Lyrae variables in the Galactic globular cluster omega Cen. Results are based on the partial reduction of multi-band time series photometric data collected during six consecutive nights with the visitor instrument ULTRACAM mounted on the New Technology Telescope (La Silla

  • The Local Group Dwarf Irregular Galaxy NGC 6822: new insight on its star formation history .
We present a new photometric analysis of the Local Group Dwarf Irregular Galaxy NGC 6822 based on archival Hubble Space Telescope Advanced Camera for Surveys images. The data correspond to three fields covering the south-east region of the galaxy; for each field F475W and F814W HST bands are available. For each field an accurate color magnitude

  • The globular cluster NGC6528 the ferrous side of the Galactic Bulge.
We present new and accurate optical photometry of the Bulge globular cluster NGC6528. The images were collected with ACS at HST and together with WFC3 (UVIS, IR) allowed us to measure the proper motion to separate cluster and field stars. We adopted two empirical calibrators and we found that NGC6528 is coeval with and more metal-rich than 47 Tuc

  • Looking for the traces of the early Universe in the Fornax dSph galaxy
We present the full Star Formation History as a function of radius of the Fornax dSph galaxy. We also present the preliminary results of the spatial distribution of the stellar populations. We found significant differences in the populations as a function of the galactocentric radius, which may be the result from interactions between Fornax and
