  • A Reverse Shock in GRB 181201A
We present comprehensive multiwavelength radio to X-ray observations of GRB 181201A spanning from ≈150 s to ≈163 days after the burst, comprising the first joint ALMA─VLA─GMRT observations of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) afterglow. The radio and millimeter-band data reveal a distinct signature at ≈3.9 days, which we interpret as reverse-shock (RS)

  • A High Sensitivity Fourier Transform Spectrometer for Cosmic Microwave Back-ground Observations
The QUIJOTE Experiment was developed to study the polarization in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) over the frequency range of 10-50 GHz. Its first instrument, the Multi-Frequency-Instrument (MFI), measures in the range 10-20 GHz which coincides with one of the naturally transparent windows in the atmosphere. The Tenerife Microwave

  • A contribution of star-forming clumps and accreting satellites to the mass assembly of z ̃ 2 galaxies
We investigate the contribution of clumps and satellites to the galaxy mass assembly. We analysed spatially resolved HubbleSpace Telescope observations (imaging and slitless spectroscopy) of 53 star-forming galaxies at z ̃ 1-3. We created continuum and emission line maps and pinpointed residual `blobs' detected after subtracting the galaxy disc

  • Water vapour detection in hot Jupiters with the CARMENES NIR channel
We found detections of water vapour and winds in the atmospheres of hot Jupiters HD 189733 b and HD 209458 b

  • Ultra-violet imaging of the night-time earth by EUSO-Balloon towards space-based ultra-high energy cosmic ray observations
The JEM-EUSO (Joint Experiment Missions for the Extreme Universe Space Observatory) program aims at developing Ultra-Violet (UV) fluorescence telescopes for efficient detections of Extensive Air Showers (EASs) induced by Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECRs) from satellite orbit. In order to demonstrate key technologies for JEM-EUSO, we

  • The Western Bulge of 162173 Ryugu Formed as a Result of a Rotationally Driven Deformation Process
162173 Ryugu, the target of Hayabusa2, is a spinning top-shaped asteroid. Observations by Optical Navigation Camera onboard Hayabusa2 have shown that the western side of this asteroid possesses a smooth surface and a sharp equatorial ridge, compared to the other side. Here, we propose that a rotationally-driven deformation process generated the
