The Instrumentation Division provides technological support in the elaboration and execution of research and development projects to fulfil the aims of the IAC. Among the objectives of the Division are the development of new instrumentation for astronomical research, the maintenance of the existing astronomical instrumentation, the utilization of its technological capabilities in other fields of science and engineering to benefit the society, the training of technical personnel, and the generation and transfer of technology. The Division is divided into various engineering departments (Software, Electronics, Optics, Mechanics, and Projects) and Production (Mechanics, Electronics, and Technical Drawing workshops, and Specific Software Services).
