Royal Decree 1078/2021, of December 7, regulates the direct granting of subsidies to organizations and entities to carry out research, development and innovation activities in the field of volcanic eruptions and guarantee the continuity of scientific activity , technical and researcher developed by public administrations and entities linked, dependent or attached to them, affected by the volcanic eruptions on the island of La Palma.

Within the framework of this Royal Decree, the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands has been granted a direct subsidy for the cleaning of facilities and equipment and the purchase and installation of prevention equipment.
