  • The activity of comet C/2007 D1 (LINEAR) at 9.7 AU from the Sun (Corrigendum)
Based on observations collected at the Italian Telescopio Nazionale Galileo (TNG), operated on the island of La Palma by the Centro Galileo Galilei of the INAF (Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica) at the Spanish Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias.

  • The Alignment of Dark Matter Halos with the Cosmic Web
We investigate the orientation of the axes and angular momentum of dark matter halos with respect to their neighboring voids using high-resolution N-body cosmological simulations. We find that the minor axis of a halo tends to be aligned along the line joining the halo with the center of the void and that the major axis tends to lie in the plane

  • The alpha -element abundances in the most oxygen-poor planetary nebula PNG 135.9+55.9
We present extensive new spectroscopy and imaging of PNG 135.9+55.9. We use these data as constraints to photoionization models to derive limits on the oxygen abundance. We find that PNG 135.9+55.9 has an oxygen abundance less than 1/50 of the solar value. Our models favour a value of 12 + log O/H between 5.8 and 6.5 dex, confirming that PNG 135.9

  • The Anomalous Acceleration of the Pioneer Spacecrafts
Radiometric data from the Pioneer 10 and 11 spacecrafts have revealed an unexplained constant acceleration of a_A = (8.74+/-1.33)×10^{-10}m s^{-2} towards the Sun, also known as the Pioneer anomaly. Different groups have analyzed the Pioneer data and have got the same results, which rules out computer programming and data handling errors. Attempts

  • The Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE)
APOGEE is a large-scale, NIR, high-resolution (R 20,000) spectroscopic survey of Galactic stars, and is one of the four experiments in the SDSS-III suite. APOGEE will provide, by orders of magnitude, the largest uniform database of chemical abundances, spectroscopic parallaxes and kinematics for Galactic stars across the bulge, disk, and halo. The

  • The APOKASC Catalog: An Asteroseismic and Spectroscopic Joint Survey of Targets in the Kepler Fields
We present the first APOKASC catalog of spectroscopic and asteroseismic properties of 1916 red giants observed in the Kepler fields. The spectroscopic parameters provided from the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment project are complemented with asteroseismic surface gravities, masses, radii, and mean densities determined by
