  • Cosmological shocks around galaxy clusters: a coherent investigation with DES, SPT, and ACT
We search for signatures of cosmological shocks in gas pressure profiles of galaxy clusters using the cluster catalogues from three surveys: the Dark Energy Survey (DES) Year 3, the South Pole Telescope (SPT) SZ survey, and the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) data releases 4, 5, and 6, and using thermal Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) maps from SPT and

  • Dark Energy Survey Year 3 results: redshift calibration of the MAGLIM lens sample from the combination of SOMPZ and clustering and its impact on cosmology
We present an alternative calibration of the MAGLIM lens sample redshift distributions from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) first 3 yr of data (Y3). The new calibration is based on a combination of a self-organizing-map-based scheme and clustering redshifts to estimate redshift distributions and inherent uncertainties, which is expected to be more

  • Detailed spectrophotometric analysis of the superluminous and fast evolving SN 2019neq
SN 2019neq was a very fast evolving superluminous supernova. At a redshift z = 0.1059, its peak absolute magnitude was -21.5 ± 0.2 mag in g band. In this work, we present data and analysis from an extensive spectrophotometric follow-up campaign using multiple observational facilities. Thanks to a nebular spectrum of SN 2019neq, we investigated some

  • Detection of the significant impact of source clustering on higher order statistics with DES Year 3 weak gravitational lensing data
We measure the impact of source galaxy clustering on higher order summary statistics of weak gravitational lensing data. By comparing simulated data with galaxies that either trace or do not trace the underlying density field, we show that this effect can exceed measurement uncertainties for common higher order statistics for certain analysis

  • EUSO-SPB1 mission and science
The Extreme Universe Space Observatory on a Super Pressure Balloon 1 (EUSO-SPB1) was launched in 2017 April from Wanaka, New Zealand. The plan of this mission of opportunity on a NASA super pressure balloon test flight was to circle the southern hemisphere. The primary scientific goal was to make the first observations of ultra-high-energy cosmic

  • Evidence for a black hole in the historical X-ray transient A 1524-61 (= KY TrA)
We present Very Large Telescope spectroscopy, high-resolution imaging, and time-resolved photometry of KY TrA, the optical counterpart to the X-ray binary A 1524-61. We perform a refined astrometry of the field, yielding improved coordinates for KY TrA and the field star interloper of similar optical brightness that we locate 0.64 ± 0.04 arcsec SE
