  • Abundance ratios in dwarf elliptical galaxies
We determine abundance ratios of 37 dwarf ellipticals (dEs) in the nearby Virgo cluster. This sample is representative of the early-type population of galaxies in the absolute magnitude range -19.0 Mr -16.0. We analyse their absorption line-strength indices by means of index-index diagrams and scaling relations and use the stellar population

  • Abundance ratios & ages of stellar populations in HARPS-GTO sample
In this work we present chemical abundances of heavy elements (Z>28) for a homogeneous sample of 1059 stars from HARPS planet search program. We also derive ages using parallaxes from Hipparcos and Gaia DR1 to compare the results. We study the [X/Fe] ratios for different populations and compare them with models of Galactic chemical evolution. We

  • A view of the H-band light-element chemical patterns in globular clusters under the AGB self-enrichment scenario
We discuss the self-enrichment scenario by asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars for the formation of multiple populations in globular clusters (GCs) by analysing data set of giant stars observed in nine Galactic GCs, covering a wide range of metallicities and for which the simultaneous measurements of C, N, O, Mg, Al, and Si are available. • A photometric study of globular clusters observed by the APOGEE survey
In this paper, we describe the photometric and spectroscopic properties of multiple populations in seven northern globular clusters. In this study, we employ precise ground-based photometry from the private collection of Stetson, space photometry from the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), literature abundances of Na and O, and Apache Point Observatory

  • A deep narrowband survey for planetary nebulae at the outskirts of M 33
Context. Planetary nebulae (PNe) are excellent tracers of stellar populations with low surface brightness, and therefore provide a powerful method to detect and explore the rich system of substructures discovered around the main spiral galaxies of the local group. Aim. We searched the outskirts of the local group spiral galaxy M 33 (the Triangulum)

  • SPECTROSCOPIC AND PHOTOMETRIC CHARACTERIZATION OF PRIMITIVE ASTEROID COLLISIONAL FAMILIES
The study of near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) is very important, due to three main reasons. First, they pose an impact risk for Earth, and damage produced by a possible collision will depend on the speed of the impact, the size of the object, and its composition. Second, given their proximity, they are easy access targets for the visit of space missions
