Description
Simultaneous multicolor photometry is an important source of observational data providing priceless information on different physical processes that cannot be obtained in other ways. It can provide modal identification for classical pulsators, information about the stellar spots structure, or clues for identifying false positives in exoplanetary discoveries, among others.
Unfortunately, only CoRoT (exoplanetary field) and the nanosatellite constellation Brite have provided space multicolour photometry, both with different limitations. Most space missions collecting ultra-precise photometric light curves collect what is called white light, which is the light observed using one and usually wide filter. The good news is that Plato2.0 will provide multicolour photometry via its two fast cameras, each one collecting data at two different filters (red and blue). It is the last opportunity in years to obtain these treasures for isolated bright stars. In this talk, we will present the science cases we are going to exploit using Plato's multicolour information and what we have learnt from previous missions.
