Description
The Einstein On-Line System (EOLS) is a collection of data, software, and documentation from the Einstein Observatory project and is located on a computer at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. The interface is menu-driven, terminal-independent, and is available via the Internet, SPAN, or telephone dial-up. Using EOLS, astronomers have access to 4 Gigabytes of Einstein processed data and documentation. Products may be retrieved via VMS copy (over SPAN), ftp (over Internet), or electronic mail. In addition, all numerical databases are available via NASA's Astrophysics Data System (ADS). The EOLS project is actively evolving in response to users' comments. Over the next two years, more than 30 Gigabytes of additional Einstein data will be made available in the EOLS.
