The quality of the skies of the Canary Islands for astronomical observation, the stable populations of cetaceans in their waters and the existence of giant lizards in their mountains, are just some of the topics dealt with in this documentary produced by CANARIAS INNOVA between 2004 and 2005. "Cielo, Mar y Tierra de Canarias" (Sky, Sea and Earth of the Canary Islands) is a 40-minute science documentary that combines state-of-the-art 3D computer graphics, aerial images, underwater images, crane shots and steady-cam, resulting in an interesting walk through these three media. A total of 24 months of intense work, with recordings by the seven islands, including the four National Parks of the Canary Islands, and the collaboration of almost fifty people and more than thirty institutions have made it possible for this project to see the light. In principle it will be broadcasted by the Autonomous Television of the Canary Islands during the month of March 2006, but soon it will also be broadcasted nationally and internationally. From April 2006 it will also be available in DVD format and on-line on our website.
