Artemio Herrero Davó is Professor of Astrophysics at the University of La Laguna. He studied Physics at the University of Valencia and at the University of La Laguna. He received his PhD from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (LMU, Germany). He has been director of the Astrophysics Department of the ULL and teaching coordinator of the IAC, as well as research coordinator of the IAC and president of the G2 Commission "Massive Stars" of the International Astronomical Union. 

His main research interests are massive stars, both galactic and extragalactic, and the analysis of their spectra using atmosphere models. He is currently focused on leading the high-resolution spectroscopic mapping of Cygnus using the WEAVE spectrograph on the William Herschel Telescope at the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos. 

Since the time of his PhD thesis he has been collaborating with Dr. J. Puls (LMU) in the field of atmospheric modelling and spectroscopic analysis. More recently he has collaborated with Dr. F. Comerón (European Southern Observatory, Munich) in the study of the stellar population in Cygnus.
