  Description
When Voyager 1 flew close to Jupiter in 1979, it took this picture of the Great Red Spot. The Great Red Spot is an anti-cyclonic storm on Jupiter that is similar to hurricanes on Earth. It is so large that three Earths could fit inside it. The Great Red Spot had been observed from Earth for hundreds of years, but never with this clarity.
