My work deals with the search and characterisation of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the solar neighbourhood, open clusters, and star-forming regions as well as the study of the shape of the mass function in the low-mass, substellar, and planetary-mass regimes. More specific interests include:
- Characterisation of nearest and coolest low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the solar neighbourhood
- Study of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in open clusters and star-forming regions. Optical and near-infrared photometry and astrometry are employed to uncover cluster members prior to subsequent spectroscopic follow-up
- Low-mass eclipsing binaries
- Companions to nearby brown dwarfs and substellar members in clusters
- Metal-poor low-mass stars and brown dwarfs
- Exoplanets around young M dwarfs
- Cool white dwarfs
- Project scientist of Small-ELF at the IAC and an active member of the ERA Chair grant LIOM
