The observation of Earth from space is a field that is boiling since the appearance of the "New Space" mentality. Instead of designing enormous satellites of very high cost that use components of very high reliability and price, in the last decade there has been an explosion of a new business model based on smaller dimensional standards and the use of electronic components of sufficient reliability , that allow the placing in orbit of scientific instruments at much lower costs than in "conventional space". Within the concrete field of Earth observation, the Microsatélites program designs and constructs optical, mechanical and electronic instruments for low orbits in standards ranging from 3U to larger minisats. The objective is to consolidate a team of professionals capable of facing space projects, in particular to design competitive Earth observation payloads that can find a space in the current market of available components for the observation of our planet.
