In August the Perseids always return. This year the maximum of this famous meteor shower will occur on August 13th between 01.30 and 14.00 Universal Time (UT, which corresponds to one hour more in the Canaries, and two hours more in the Peninsula), so the best time to observe them will be during the night of August 12th to 13th although there is always some activity on the previous nights and the following nights. The moon will be waning, in fact new moon will be on August 14th, so that moonlight will be no obstacle to observe the shower. According to estimates this will produce between 100 and 120 meteors per hour at maximum.
